- Essential Functions
Supervises staff to include assigning duties and checking work; coordinates clinical office activities; performs scribing during patient exam; takes verbal and written orders from physician and responds accordingly; prepares examination rooms for patients; positions and prepares patients for examination by the physician; takes patient histories and checks pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and assesses charts for completeness; operates EKG or other medical equipment; performs routine laboratory tests and procedures; gives injections, draws blood samples, or renders prescribed treatments as directed; sterilizes and cleans instruments; maintains inventory and orders supplies; serves as receptionist and performs secretarial duties such as: transcribing dictation, typing reports and correspondence, completing insurance forms, and maintaining financial records; collects payments and prepares receipts; maintains medical records and other files; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
- Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of directly related healthcare experience in a clinic or hospital setting or completion of a medical assistant training program and one year of directly related healthcare experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
