Job Summary
JOB OVERVIEW
University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) has a Development Coordinator opportunity available on the Children’s Health team. In this role, the Development Coordinator works independently and collaboratively with three to five Development Officers/Annual Giving team members who are responsible for building development programs and raising major gifts in diverse areas. The position requires a high attention to detail, creative problem solving and an incumbent who demonstrates strong skills in analytical reasoning, project management, administrative processes and interpersonal relations. The individual will exhibit professional judgment, sensitivity, and diplomacy with the aim of enabling Development Officers to spend optimal time in developing major-gift strategies, interacting with prospects/donors, and in collaborating with unit and academic leadership to advance major-gift fundraising.

FOUNDATION AND THE OFFICE OF UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT AND ALUMNI RELATIONS
The UCSF Foundation and the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) are responsible for fostering and strengthening the campus outreach efforts to UCSF constituents and for garnering private support for the campus. In raising private support, UDAR identifies, qualifies, solicits and stewards donors for the schools, medical centers, departments and programs on campus; for formal acceptance and administration of all private gifts to the university through The Regents or the UCSF Foundation; and for managing all alumni relations activities, campus support group activities and campus events. The UDAR office staffs the UCSF Foundation. The office is also responsible for the design and implementation of fundraising campaigns for UCSF.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least one to two years’ experience working in administrative support or similar roles
• Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and / or medical center and with external constituencies
• Good organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Skill to maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications
• Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations and public relations concepts, principles, procedures and techniques
• Working knowledge of the campus and / or medical center, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure
• Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
• Experience working in CRM systems such as Advance or Salesforce
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and InDesign
