Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is seeking a Platform Integration Engineer to support the Project Management Office for Aircraft Survivability Equipment (PMO ASE) located in Huntsville, AL. The candidate will function as an integral member of a team of Government, Military, and Contractor Personnel that provides programmatic, engineering, and technical support to PMO ASE. PMO ASE is an acquisition management organization under the Program Executive Office for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare & Sensors (PEO IEW&S). The team provides acquisition management support, program research, engineering, logistics, and technical support for the development and fielding of world class aircraft survivability equipment.
The candidate will work within PMO ASE supporting designated Product Offices by providing management oversight and technical expertise for the physical integration of aircraft survivability equipment on rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft. Experience in aircraft and aircraft systems is highly desired.
The candidate will identify, document, and coordinate technical aspects of the design and integration process for development and implementation of current and future ASE onto the designated platform.
The candidate will be expected to provide reports to inform management of status, potential issues and risks. The candidate may be expected to support root cause and corrective actions, and planning activities for the integration of multiple products and components within various stages of the DoD Acquisition Life Cycle.
The candidate is expected to have a working knowledge of Army Interactive Technical Manuals (IETM's), Maintenance Work Orders (MWO) and other technical publications and commercial publications to support the Logistics Team and Platform PM and ultimately the aircraft pilots and crews using the updated ASE.
Additionally, the candidate is expected to have a fundamental knowledge and experience working with the Aviation Engineering Directorate (AED) to review drawings, analysis and other required documentation in support of an approved Airworthiness Release (AWR).
Education and experience requirement(s):
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- 6 years or more experience with Aircraft Integration or Systems Engineering.
Job Description and Experience:
- Work independently with little supervision to assist outside contractor support with requirements, development and validation of the overall design and installation of specific ASE hardware.
- Ability to read and interpret contractor provided electrical wiring schematics, mechanical drawings, and various analysis. Ability to effectively manage, edit and communicate required changes of the Technical Data Package to the subcontractor based on reviews from various outside groups.
- Ability to communicate program status both verbally and in written form.
- Participate and work as a team member on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
Must currently possess or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Candidate will be expected to travel 5-10% to support meetings, prototype installations and aircraft site surveys. Most travel is typically between 1-3 days in duration.
