Job Purpose & Responsibilities

This position reports to the site EHSS Manager with an overall objective to drive compliance and performance improvement in the sites environmental programs.

- Provide site leadership for assigned regulatory programs in Air, Water, Waste, Land, & Hazardous Materials.
- Serve as subject matter expert for assigned state and federal permitting and compliance requirements including Title V air permitting, NESHAP, NSPS, CASPR, Acid Rain Program, Waste Water Treatment Processes, NPDES, C&D Landfill, RCRA, Hazardous Waste Management, Shipment of Hazardous materials by Truck and Rail.
- Act as point of contact for EHSS compliance issues within manufacturing operations for assigned areas/medias.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory permits, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for assigned units or medias.
- Work with area operations to meet EHSS expectations and improve operating metrics.
- Implement programs that achieve both regulatory requirements and operational flexibility.
- Facilitate implementation of the SABIC Corporate SHEMS Elements and Sub-Elements.



Requirements

- BS degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a chemical or industrial setting in an environmental, engineering, or related role.
- Provide technical direction and execution of critical EHSS programs and assignments. Coordinate the preparation of permits, applications, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Experience/familiarity with air, waste, water land medias and process programs including NSR and Title V Permitting, TRI, Tier II, SARA, RC14001, NPDES, BMP, RCRA, Hazardous Materials, DOT/FRA, EPA, CERCLA, TSCA, CAA, CWA, MACT, BACT, HON, MON, GMACT, LDAR, C&D Landfills and other standards related to various Federal, State, Local and relevant regulatory agencies.
- Agency interface with on-site regulatory inspections and permitting functions. Individual will also interact with other sites environmental engineers to translate best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, training and interpersonal skills required.
- Proven track record of leading organizational changes and program implementation.
- Demonstrated analytical, computer, communication, negotiations skills and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate individuals teams and interacts cross-functionally.

Desired Skill
- Masters Degree a plus, but not required.
- Certification as a CHMM, REM, CEA, CEP, CPEA or a PE a plus, but not required.
