    Senior System Administration Unix

    Responsibilities

    The contractor shall provide application support for COTS and Mission Partner written software (GOTS) which runs on various operating systems, including UNIX, OS 2000 and Windows Server in the NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments on a 24x7x365 basis. This will require a privileged access to a DISA information system, which will have an ability to access and control functions of the information system/network, administration of user accounts, etc.


    Installation Support. The contractor shall provide application support for installation activities to include COTS software installations, application deployment functions, deployment of custom software as required, debugging software deployments, resolving installation problems, determining host system requirements for application installation and operation, mapping defined requirements to the application topology, selecting suitable application editions and installing options, resolving installation problems and providing application administration services in the NIPRNet and SIPRNet networks on a 24x7x365 basis.


    Implementation Support. The contractor shall provide application support for implementation activities to include plan, perform and implement installations and upgrades and implement/sustain middleware application components.


    Testing Support. The contractor shall provide application support for test activities to include unit/component testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing.


    Maintenance Support. The contractor shall provide application support for maintenance activities to include improving performance with available tools, checking application for problems and reviewing operations to ensure only valid processes are running, optimizing the functionality of application software, diagnosing and recovering failed applications and maintaining application integrity, performance and availability.


    Monitoring Support. The contractor shall provide application support for monitoring activities to include monitoring performance of and taking proactive measures to prevent service disruption.


    Troubleshooting Support. The contractor shall provide application support for troubleshooting activities to include identifying what the problem is, gathering more details, eliminating variables, reproducing the problem, development of hypothesis of root cause and attempting a fix based on findings.


    Repair Support. (Mission Essential)The contractor shall provide application support for repair activities to include repairing and documentation of repairs made for future use. Repairs include such things as backing out coding and patching changes, applying patches/code fixes and fixing database errors/issues.

    Application Security Administration Support. (Mission Essential) The contractor shall provide support for application security administration to include applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) guidelines to application, developing procedures for responding to new threats to systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability, ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of application services, streamlining security using managed accounts and controlling access with permissions and roles.


    The contractor shall provide any required incident response and management as incidents and problems occur.

    Qualifications

    MUST HAVE DoD 8570 IA certification – Security +, CE certification.

    • Experience with Remedy IT Ticketing system.
