Job Description

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United
States. Missile Defense and Protective Systems (MDPS) serves as Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination.

We are seeking a Simulation / Stimulation Product Owner for the C2BMC program, located in Huntsville, AL.

As Product Owner of a Modeling and Simulation scrum team, the successful applicant will own the scrum team's work backlog and prioritize development of M&S tools and products to support the development of C2BMC software. The product owner will collaborate with members of other C2BMC Product Teams, C2BMC leadership, MDA customers, technical SMEs, as well as leadership of other BMDS Element programs in order to identify and refine M&S product requirements. The Product Owner will oversee the development lifecycle of digital emulators for BMDS elements, including requirements decomposition, software development, V&V, and delivery to internal stakeholders. The Product Owner is expected to provide technical expertise in the area of BMDS modeling and simulation and analysis of the BMDS.



Basic Qualifications:
  • 9 years with Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Applicant must have a broad engineering background that covers a variety of disciplines, including systems engineering, data analysis, software development/integration/delivery, automated testing, and verification/validation.
  • Applicant needs experience supporting detailed system level assessment of complex systems, preferably using modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Technical specialty areas may include but are not limited to the following: Ballistic Missile Defense System elements and concepts (RF sensors, IR sensors, command and control, battle management, target acquisition/tracking/discrimination/engagement/reporting); ballistic missile threat characterization, performance, and modeling; and simulation of large, complex systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Agile development concepts and tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Data analysis using MATLAB, Python, Perl, or similar language
  • Java
  • Large data set manipulation
  • Emulation of complex systems
