Our team is seeking a SE Project Engineer to support Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Ground Systems Development (GSD) program. In this role you will work in the Project Integration and Execution area which is one of the four THAAD Ground Systems Engineering teams: Project Integration and Execution; System Design & Architecture [Force Operations (FO); Engagement Operations (EO)], and Requirements & Verification.

In this role you will be accountable for overall systems engineering technical, cost and schedule performance on a specific project(s). Additionally, you may lead broader projects for the THAAD GSD effort. You will provide primary Tech Ops interface with Program Management (PM) Office / Customer for all programmatic items on a specific project. Responsible for identification and closure of technical issues. Meets/Exceeds all technical commitments made to the programs. Track Estimate to Complete/Earned Value Management (ETC/EVM) Metrics to monitor program performance, and identify technical or Tech Ops staffing risks, while managing cost/schedule. Ensures requirements baseline in documents, tracked, maintained, and verified. Ensures establishment and tracking of key performance metrics. Provides timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements. Works closely with first line functional leaders to identify and secure appropriate staffing, coordinates with the PM office and first line managers on proposed engineering staffing changes prior to changes. Position reports to THAAD GSD Systems Engineering Mgr. in Huntsville Alabama

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in Program/project planning and execution
• Experience with Program/Project Management and Cost management
• Experience with Engineering and Systems Engineering development processes
• Experience with Cost Account Manager (CAM)
• Demonstrated technical depth and breadth related to development, including expert level technical depth in at least one engineering discipline and experience in adjacent technical disciplines
• Experience in all phases of development life cycle (to include proposal, design, qualification, requirements verification/validation, production and deployed system support)
• Experience working with subcontractors

Desired skills
• Systems Engineering or related experience / education
• Concept of Operations/ System Architecting
• Experience interfacing with customer representatives and LM leadership or similar
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork with internal customers
• Requirements definition or decomposition or working with requirements documents

• Bachelor’s degree in either Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related degree program from an accredited college/university.
• Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical and programmatic issues to subordinates, peers, management and customers.
• Experience using DOORs as a requirements management database or similar
Missile Defense Concepts and Interoperability or other Command and Control systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Word)
Experience with system engineering missile systems
Active Secret clearance
