Job Description

MDP includes advanced Hypersonic weapons, Directed Energy Weapons, Ballistic/Hypersonic Missile Defense, and Targets, and other key advanced technologies. This role can be a true career milestone with tremendous growth potential to stretch and hone your expertise. This is a rare opportunity to work closely alongside our MDA/Army partners to field urgently needed systems. We have an immediate need for a Sr Quality Engineering Manager for our Huntsville, AL location (preferred location). This role may also sit in Sunnyvale, CA for the right candidate.

As the MDP Quality Assurance (QA) Sr. Manager, you will lead and develop a strong hardware and software QA team to plan and successfully execute our program portfolio. You will be deployed to the business VP/Program Managers and work closely within the integrated program team to develop and apply quality processes to deliver on customer needs. You will own the overall process and product quality on these critical programs with authority to ensure requirements are met. In this role, you will also have functional responsibility for your team, including staffing, performance reviews, and talent development. You will own the Corrective Action Board (CAB) and serve as the primary DCMA contact for this portfolio. You will be expected to fulfill delegation responsibilities for the Director, QA, and to lead cross-functional improvement projects to drive cost down and value up.

You will need to apply your strong understanding of all aspects of Quality Assurance for both development and ongoing programs. We need you to be a driving force to guide technical decisions that achieve high quality performance. Your work will influence the Systems Architecture; Integrated Master Plan; Requirements and Verification Baseline; development, production and flight test hardware/software baseline; ground and flight test planning; and design maturity milestone reviews. As a Full Spectrum Leader, you will also drive design evolution with an independent QA mindset.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).
• Minimum 10 years of QA experience and/or related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience with Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors
• Expertise in root cause analyses methodologies and in developing preventive quality corrective action plans
• Experience supporting program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR) as the primary QA point of contact
• Effective ability to interact with DOD & DCMA customers and build effective relationships
• Ability to obtain a Secret level DoD clearance and US Citizenship required

• Experience on a leadership team on a development program
• Experience developing a program quality plan, defining a requirements and verification baseline, and implementing hardware and software QA oversight.
• Knowledge of AS9100, MDA, and US Army Quality System requirements
• Green Belt / Black Belt Certification; Experience in applying toolset
• Experience leading and conducting QA reviews including Corrective Action Boards, Corrective Action Plans, and Continuous Improvement projects
• Experience interfacing with a proposal team to define and manage the QA portion of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and proposal Basis of Estimates (BOE)s
