Job Details:

  • RN - Licensed in Texas or Compact
  • 1 year of experience required

    Position responsible for collaborating with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care and utilizing the nursing process to facilitate the delivery of patient care. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population, which includes obstetrical, postpartum, newborn, and post-surgical patients. Provides professional nursing skills utilizing the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care for assigned patients. Serves as a patient advocate within the health care system. Responsible for performing patient care requiring specialized training and skill. Acquires and maintains knowledge and skill required to perform patient care in a specialty service/area. Accountable for assuring the safety, comfort, care, and treatment of patients according to legal, ethical, professional and institutional standards. Participates in the hospital's Quality Improvement and Service Excellence programs. Demonstrates understanding of the philosophy and objectives, and adheres to policies and procedures of the department and organization.


  • Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support; other certification based on nursing unit requirements.
  • One or more years of Nursing experience in in Labor and Delivery.
  • Licensure/Certification:

    1. Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing.
    2. Current AHA BLS certification required at time of hire.
    3. NRP or NALS certification required within 3 months of hire.
    4. Appropriate level approved Fetal Monitoring course required within 3 months of hire.


    1. Work is of medium demand. Exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    2. Moving or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds.
    3. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    4. Ability to bend, lean and stoop without hindrance; full range of body motion.
    5. Fine motor skills are essential.
    6. Visual acuity, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus are essential.
    7. Normal range of hearing is essential.
