Manage the human resources in the rooms division in order to attract, retain and motivate the employees. Hire, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication vehicles, discipline and terminate, as appropriate. Oversee departmental matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.
- Develop, recommend, implement and manage the rooms division's annual budget, business/marketing plan, forecasts and objectives to meet/exceed management expectations.
-Implement company programs and manage the operations of the division in a manner consistent with federal, state and local laws and regulations and Starwood policies and procedures to ensure a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
- Implement emergency organization procedures and training through the management of the Security staff to ensure appropriate protection for hotel guests, staff and company assets.
-Supervise and coordinate all activities for Luggage Attendants, Garage Valets, Door Attendants and Concierge.
-Interview and hire new associates.
-Coach, counsels, and disciplines associates as needed and effectively recommends suspension, and/or termination.
-Schedule staff based on occupancy and hotel activity.
-Train and mentor associate's in all areas of Guest Services.
-Assist guests with all requests, i.e. airline reservations, luggage handling, parking.
-Maintain labor costs within budgets as directed by the financial budget of the hotel and department.
-Communicate daily with other Rooms division management on activities, goals, objectives, variances of the Guest Service Department.
