ALATEC is seeking a System Analyst Engineer. Performs end-to-end analysis of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) supporting the systems engineering process for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Analyses are focused on evaluation of new concepts, requirements definition and system and test verification.

Responsibilities:

-Individual will write code to add analysis capabilities or to modify a large MATLAB based BMDS simulation and perform quantitative analyses

-Must understand modeling and simulation of systems

-May also run higher fidelity element level simulations

-May act as a subject matter expert on BMDS elements or analysis techniques, specifically focused on overhead persistent EO/IR systems related to BMDS and associated phenomenology

-Individual could act as the team lead or report to the lead

-Plans tasks and reports on progress

-Coordinates with functional working group leads, senior management and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks

-Documents analysis results in reports and briefings and presents results to the Missile Defense Systems Engineering Team (MDSET) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

-Strong technical background in various BMDS sensors, notably EO/IR, and specifically Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) assets

-Experience/working knowledge of BMDS with a background in the development of analytical tools and numerical modeling of complex systems using MATLAB or a similar computing environment

-Strong communication skills.

-Education and experience commensurate with that of a senior analyst capable of working independently and with minimal supervision

-Capable of assuming a study lead role in analyses and coordinating the efforts with other subject matter experts

Desired Qualifications:

-Ballistic missile defense experience, including sensors specifically OPIR/ONIR/BOA (e.g., SBIRS HEO/GEO, DSP), RF and IR discrimination, interceptor engagement analysis, and kill vehicle operation

-Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities

-Familiarity with BMDS threat generation and selection

-Systems Engineering experience of large, complex weapons systems

Required Education:

-Bachelor's 5 or more years' experience, Master's with 3 or more years' experience or PhD

-Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering or sciences
