Requirements: Prospective interns must be pursuing a BS or MS in one of the following disciplines: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Candidates need to have a good understanding of programming in C/C++ or Java, even if it is only through classroom exposure. GPA must be 3.8 or higher. Involvement in extra-curricular activities like IEEE, Eta Kappa Nu, ACM is highly desired.

ADTRAN internship assignments vary with each student s knowledge and abilities. The intern will typically spend his or her term in a Design Engineering group working with the latest network technologies such as VoIP, IPTV, Broadband Access and cutting edge Routers/Switches doing a combination of software development or hardware design, testing, analysis, etc.
Intern placement may include, but is not limited to: software development, agile software development, hardware design, research and development, testing, FPGA.
Most positions are software-related.
Interns must be further along in their college career, able to jump into assignments with minimal supervision.
