Featured Position - Program Manager - Huntsville, AL
Overview: Abacus Technology is in need of a Program Manager to oversee a large scale program encompassing a range of IT Data Center and Scientific/Engineering services for the Missile Defense Data Center (MDDC). This is a full-time position.
Major Duties & Responsibilities: Lead a staff of 70+ people in the performance of an IT Data Center support services contract for a scientific and engineering environment. Exercise authority to represent Abacus Technology on all programmatic, contractual, and technical matters. Direct next level management and leads in all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects. Act as a single point of contact for the management team and clients. Ensure adherence to quality standards and review program deliverables. Manage the integration of subcontractor tasks, and track and review assigned deliverables. Provide technical and analytical guidance to the program team. Provide daily direction to management and leads in overseeing the ingestion, archival, inventory, verification, cataloging, access, dissemination, and protection of experiment data, data products, and research results generated from designated experiments and associated programs and projects.
Qualifications: 10+ years experience including project/program management and technical experience. Bachelor s degree in a related field. Project Management certification (i.e. PMP) is required. Other work related certifications such as ITIL are highly desirable. Must have a solid background, including hands-on experience, in all aspects of data center operations (preferably in a scientific environment). Proven experience in supporting mission-related scientific and technical organizations. Able to build an understanding of the organization s goals and objectives. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Able to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required. Comfortable presenting ideas in a professional and user-friendly language. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional customer service orientation. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
